Class Registration Policy
Please register early as space is limited so that we can give you individual attention. Payment is due upon registration. Payment by Visa, Mastercard, Debit or Cash in the store; Visa or Mastercard by phone. Please register only for classes you are able to attend. Refunds are given only on classes cancelled by the store. We ask that you refrain from wearing perfume as some people are allergic.
When paying for class supplies please remind us to give you your "CLASS DISCOUNT". (We get busy sometimes and may forget!) Excluding Clubs and Kits we offer 10% discount on all regular priced supplies purchased for classes. We do not require that you purchase your fabrics or supplies at Cock-A-Doodle Quilts but we certainly do appreciate your business.

Classes are listed in alphabetical order. Block-of-the-Month programs, Mystery Quilts and Quilting Clubs are located at the bottom of the list.

Beginner Hand Piecing & Hand Quilting with Barb Scott
Carry on this traditional method of quilting by learning how to piece, applique and quilt by hand. Working on ths six block sampler, Barb will walk you through each step of the piecing and applique process and provide guidance on the art of hand quilting. No machine required. (There will be homework!)

Machine Quiltmaking - Beginner with Jo-Ann Fried
This class is designed for beginners who want to learn basic quilting skills. In a 6 part Lecture/Workshop series you will learn everything from how to select fabric, cut and piece a number of block styles, put a quilt together, layer, baste, machine quilt and bind a project. Participants will be expected to work on the quilt at home between classes (that is, there's homework!) Machine required.

Open Thread Bar Workshop
with Anita Zobens - Certified "Superior Threads" Educator
Have you ever wanted to experiment with different threads before buying them? Well, now you can! This is an "open thread bar" workshop - you bring your machine and I'll bring the threads.
Learn how to choose the correct needle, and how to overcome your fear of the tension dial. We'll discuss the properties of the different threads available today so that you can make an informed decision when choosing thread.
Various machine applications will be covered, such as straight stitch, free motion, decorative embroidery, both raw edge decorative and invisible applique. Learn some nifty techniques using fusible and water soluble threads. At the end of the day you will have a new perspective on threads and your own sampler as future reference. Threads will be available for purchase.

Paper Piecing for Beginners with Barb Scott
Paper piecing is addictive! Once you learn the technique you will be searching for more patterns. This class will prepare you for a myriad of possibilites. You'll be doing intricate paper piecing and foundation piecing in no time. We will start with a basic pattern from our recommended book which you will probably complete in class. So bring your scraps or pick up a couple of fat quarters and away we go. Machine required.

Serendipity with Carolyn Flood
Come and spend a relaxing few hours stitching. We'll be using traditional stitches in a contemporary or abstract way. By using lots of different threads and yarns the results are surprising and wonderful. No rules here. Come and try something new. (You really have to come in and see the sample.)

Healing Heroes - Charity Quilts
A worthy cause which we've chosen to support, come and help us make up lap quilts for our service men and women who so deserve the comfort of our efforts. You'll meet some wonderful dedicated quilters who put together stunning quilts from fabrics donated by themselves and others.
